Case Study Alli

Client:
Mrs Tina H., Connecticut.
Project: Change eating habits to reduce fat intake

Client chose Alli and has lost over 10 pounds in 3 months.

Tina decided upon Alli after reading several online reviews. She told us that there were two deciding factors that made her choose this. One was that it is made by GlaxoSmithklineBeecham, one of the biggest and most well-known pharmaceutical firms in the world. The other was that it seemed to be as much about promoting a lifestyle, as much as just being a diet pill. We at Weight-Loss-Institute agree with these two factors.

Being researched and manufactured by such a ‘giant’ in the pharmaceutical industry gives great confidence in the product, as does, of course, the FDA approval. And also, Tina is right, the producers of Alli realise that it is about how you live your life in conjunction with taking Alli that will make all the difference. They are there to support you through this process. Tina received her starter pack and read the introductory booklet. She tells us that she started out well, and stocked her apartment with healthy and low-calorie and particularly, low-fat foods. But she found that she was still ‘snacking’ in the afternoons at work. This gave her some of the well-publicised side effects of Alli, when too much fat is taken into the body and it can’t absorb it all.

After 3 weeks, Tina had lost little, if any weight. So she decided to cut out the snacking, she had a slightly bigger (low-fat) breakfast, which allowed her to have her lunch a little later and that, in turn, helped her to stop snacking in the afternoon. She also realised that she had done nothing about her exercise levels, which were very low. She has a friend who has a dog. She started joining her friend for a walk “every morning that it wasn’t raining!” and, apart from enjoying catching up and getting much closer to her friend, she had found her personal formula that worked.

She lost over 10 pounds in the following 2 months. Ever since, she has managed to keep that weight from coming back, and is hoping that she will be able to take the next step and reduce her calorie intake, or do more exercise, in the near future.
